A Vocational School of Higher Education that does not only teach but also practice with its students!
Our History
Iskenderun Vocational School of Higher Education started its education life in 1976 as a unit affiliated to the Non-formal Higher Education Institution (YAY-KUR) under the Ministry of National Education. With the Higher Education Law No. 2547 that emerged in 1981, all higher education institutions were gathered under the roof of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), and Vocational Schools of Higher Education were connected to universities.
As of 1982, the Turkish higher education system has been transformed into a unified structure consisting of twenty-seven universities and their affiliated faculties, institutes, colleges, conservatories, and colleges. In this respect, the functions of YAYKUR were transferred to Anadolu University and the spread of distance education in our country was accelerated. In this process of change, Iskenderun Vocational School was attached to Çukurova University in 1982. In 1984, it was selected as one of the 8 pilot schools in our country within the scope of the Development of Existing Vocational Schools Project (1st Industrial Education Project) carried out jointly by the World Bank and YÖK. Since 1985, within this project scope, the instructors received vocational training in England and America. Materials to be used in workshops and laboratories started to arrive in 1987 and the project was completed in 1989. In the same year, since the existing building was not sufficient, the campus location was explored and a college campus is known today as the Hill campus was established.
İskenderun Vocational School of Higher Education was separated from Çukurova University with the law number 3837 dated 11.07.1992 and became a unit of Mustafa Kemal University on 01.01.1993.
Iskenderun Vocational School of Higher Education was separated from Mustafa Kemal University with the law numbered 6640 dated 31.03.2015 and became the unit of the newly established Iskenderun Technical University on April 23, 2015.

In the Industry 4.0 processes that we are going through, each country strives to increase its share in creating value-added products. One of the main elements of competition with developed countries is undoubtedly the adaptation to the digitalization process. Ensuring this adaptation will be possible with institutions that provide vocational and technical education with a corporate identity as a country. Vocational schools, which are one of the pillars of vocational and technical education, are university units that aim to train the technicians, or in other words, the intermediate staff needed for the industry in our country. For this reason, vocational schools should have workshops and laboratories equipped with up-to-date educational technologies.
In line with the determined targets, 13 items of materials were purchased from the workshops and laboratories of ISTE İskenderun Vocational School.
