INTRODUCTION OF THE PROGRAM
Crafts have emerged depending on natural conditions since human beings existed. He gave his first examples in order to meet the needs of people, cover and protect them. Later, the crafts, which developed and changed according to environmental conditions, became "traditional" by reflecting the feelings, artistic tastes and cultural characteristics of the society in which it emerged.
In order to meet daily requirements in the past, craft products produced by the number of needs in individual or small capacity workshops are now produced in high capacity workshops or factories and take their place in international markets. Paper, fiber, leather, wood, stone, glass, such as all kinds of natural raw materials, both used goods and decoration objects produced by these products, the country's economy also provides significant contributions.
In the field of design, which is the most important stage of craft production, our students who can think with scientific and aesthetic criteria and turn it into an artistic model, who can recognize and use materials and equipment covering technological innovations for production, the design and application skills needed by the craft sector take their place in the country's economy as highly qualified technicians.
The traditional crafts program, which is located under the Department of crafts associated with Iskenderun Vocational School, has been prepared to meet the needs of qualified employees in the field of design and application of the sector. Our most important aim is to train our students as researchers, participants and problem solvers who have gained the professional competencies required by the labour market by equipping them with the necessary knowledge to analyze, interpret and produce, understand the principle of efficiency and adapt to the relevant sector developments.
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Students who graduate from the traditional crafts program have extensive business interests in the public and private sectors. Graduates can work as master teachers in the field of crafts, Public Education, Cultural Centers, municipalities, associations, nurseries, rehabilitation centers and special workshops. In addition, they can also be employed in tile and ceramic, hand decoration units, weaving workshops that produce in the traditional sense, and in various units of textile companies in the field of desinator and decorative decoration. In addition, our graduate students can choose to work independently, establish their own workshop or sell the products they have made via the internet.

LABORATORY FACILITIES
Our students aim to learn the basic structures of traditional arts "traditional Turkish patterns, basic Art Education, Technical Drawing.. in addition to courses such as "miniature, Illumination, marbling, tile, weaving, felt making techniques, Herbal knitting, relief, Kalemişi" he also takes theoretical and practical courses for the production of traditional crafts.
