ABOUT THE RESIDENCE PROCESS - IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Delivery Process of Student Residence Permit Application Documents within the Framework of the General Directorate of Migration Management and YÖK Protocol
Residence permits for students registered at our university are carried out by universities within the framework of the procedures and principles regarding the implementation of the "Protocol on Cooperation Principles Regarding Residence Permit Applications for Foreign Students, Postdoctoral Researchers and Academicians in Higher Education Institutions and Their Families" made between the General Directorate of Immigration Management and YÖK.
Documents Required for First/Extension/Transition Applications;

Residence Permit Student Registration Form
4 biometric photographs (taken within the last 6 months, with a white background, 5x6 size)
Photocopy of passport (including pages with validity date and last entry stamp)
Visa photocopy (if available)
Photocopy of residence permit card (if available)
Criminal Record Certificate
Student certificate
Turkish Learning Course Certificate (To be obtained from TÖMER students. E-signed/signed and Stamped/Sealed, including the possible graduation date)
Original Payment Receipt for Residence Permit Card Fee
Valid health insurance (GSS or private health insurance covering the residence permit request period)
For those under 18 years of age (as of the date of application through the E-Ikamet system):
-Consent letter* (This document will not be requested separately if the foreigner's parents are legally present in our country)
-Birth Certificate* (Required if the identity/passport document of the foreigner cannot identify the mother and/or father)
Written document showing address information
- If staying in a dormitory, e-signed/signed and sealed/stamped dormitory document; if staying with a rental agreement, notarized rental contract)
- If he/she lives in his/her own house, a photocopy of the title deed (for extension applications, "residence certificate and invoice" are sufficient)
- If staying with a rental agreement, a notarized copy of the rental agreement
- Hotel etc. If staying in accommodation places, document proving that you stay in these places-)
- If staying in student dormitories, document proving that you are staying in a dormitory)
-(If the supporter is staying with him/her, the notary approved commitment of the person he/she stays with)
-If the supporter is married, also the notarized commitment of his/her spouse) -
* Notary Approved Translation and Apostille Procedures of These Documents Must Be Added to the File Once Completed.
* These documents are not required for those who come from our foreign representative offices with a student visa.
Note: The prepared documents will be delivered to the relevant unit of the University.
The foreigner must apply to the Immigration Administration as of the end of the residence/visa/conditional entry period to the country.
a) If an appointment is made within 10 days, the transactions will be concluded without penalty.
b) If an appointment is made within 90 days, the transactions will be concluded with a penalty by obtaining a valid excuse.
c) If an appointment is made after 90 days, the application will be cancelled.
IMPORTANT INFORMATIONS:
If the relevant procedures are not followed, legal proceedings will be taken within the scope of the Foreigners and International Protection Law No. 6458.
Immigration Administration takes into consideration the online application date. For this reason, the online application must be made within the visa period or 60 (sixty) days before the residence permit expires.
The address you provide when applying for a residence permit must be correct and complete.
In cases such as name/surname change, passport change, marital status change, address change or department/program change, the Provincial Directorate of Immigration Management must be informed within 20 business days.
In case of a change of faculty or department at the same university or a change of university in the same province, the current residence permit remains valid, provided that notification is made in time. In this case, the foreign student must notify within 20 days.
If the student withdraws from a university in a different province and enrolls in a university in our province, a residence permit transfer application must be made within 20 days.
There should be no erasures or scrapings on your residence permit. In case the residence permit is lost, an application must be made immediately to the Provincial Directorate of Immigration Management.
The residence permits of students who are on leave or whose registration is suspended are canceled by the Immigration Administration.
If you plan to stay in Turkey without being enrolled in any program (for reasons such as graduation ceremony, postgraduate application, etc.), you must apply for the type of residence permit appropriate to your purpose of stay before the end of your residence.
