Department of Interior Architecture
Interior Architecture is one of the design fields at the intersection of architectural science and fine arts.
Designers trained in this field work on developing user-oriented design ideas for space, functional, form and detail analysis and visualization.
The Department of Interior Architecture started education and training in the 2020-2021 academic year with 62 students in regular education. As of the Fall Semester of 2023-2024, the Department of Interior Architecture continues its education and training period with a total of 272 students and 4 academic staff. During the 4-year education program, the department trains interior architects who design creative and livable interiors based on visual perception, offer solutions that combine aesthetics and function, offer comfortable and life-enhancing spaces to the user, and create the design of the immediate environment. The Department of Interior Architecture aims to raise well-equipped, creative individuals in the field of interior architecture and to contribute to increasing the importance given to interior design in society with the theoretical and practical education it provides. In addition, as of 2020, our new faculty building, which has a total area of 17 000 square meters, has 18 classrooms and 12 drawing workshops, two printing workshops, two laboratories, two conference halls and two cafeterias.
Students who will graduate from the department can work independently as interior architects as well as in private and public organizations. They take an active role in the interior design of all kinds of newly designed buildings, interior renovation projects, design and implementation stages of existing buildings. They have the opportunity to work in a wide range of fields from the design of interior fittings to environmental design.
