İskenderun Technical University aims to educate students in line with the diverse needs of the aviation and space sector through its academic programs. The Department of Aviation Electrical and Electronics focuses on electrical, electronic, and avionic systems used in aircraft, representing a critical field in terms of flight safety and technical continuity. The Department of Aerospace Engineering contributes to engineering-based solutions by dealing with the design, production, aerodynamics, and advanced technology systems of air and space vehicles. The Department of Aviation Management provides a managerial perspective to the sector by focusing on airline management, airport management, ground handling services, operations, safety, and sustainability. The Department of Aircraft Maintenance and Repair equips students with the technical knowledge and skills required for the maintenance, inspection, and repair processes that ensure aircraft operate safely, efficiently, and without interruption.

Department of Avionics
The Department of Aviation Electrical and Electronics is an undergraduate program that provides comprehensive education on power systems, electrical structures, electronic equipment, and avionic systems used in aircraft. In the department, students not only gain theoretical knowledge of aircraft electrical and electronic systems but also develop professional skills through practical training in inspection, maintenance, and repair processes.
Through education delivered in line with international standards, the department aims to train qualified technical personnel who can take part in aircraft maintenance and repair operations. With its rapid growth, increasing investment volume, and wide employment opportunities, the aviation sector has become one of the most attractive career fields for students today.
Graduates of the four-year Aviation Electrical and Electronics undergraduate program acquire extensive sectoral knowledge through both core technical courses and a rich selection of elective courses.
Deparment of Aerospace Engineering
The Department of Aerospace Engineering is an undergraduate program that aims to train qualified engineers in the design, production, development, and improvement of manned and unmanned aerial vehicles used in civil and military aviation. The department provides students with comprehensive engineering knowledge in areas such as aerodynamics, structural analysis and design of aircraft, aircraft systems, avionic systems, aircraft engine design, rocket technology, atmospheric physics, flight dynamics, and control.
Graduates of the department can be employed in defense industry companies, aircraft and helicopter maintenance, repair, and design units, technical and maintenance units of military aviation, the rocket and satellite industry, and national and international organizations operating in the aviation and space sector. In this respect, the department offers wide-ranging career opportunities for students who wish to contribute to developing aviation and space technologies.
Department of Aviation Management
The Department of Aviation Management is an undergraduate program that aims to train qualified manager candidates needed by the rapidly growing aviation sector operating on a global scale. The department provides students with a comprehensive perspective in areas such as airline management, airport management, ground handling services, flight operations, aviation safety, aviation security, marketing, customer relations, and sustainability.
The aviation sector requires not only technical knowledge, but also professionals with strong communication skills, crisis management competence, analytical thinking ability, and familiarity with international standards. In this regard, the Department of Aviation Management aims to equip students with both field-specific professional knowledge in aviation and the necessary background in business and management.
Graduates of the department may have career opportunities in airline companies, airport operators, ground handling organizations, terminal operators, civil aviation authorities, logistics and cargo companies, as well as national and international organizations operating in the aviation sector. Through the theoretical knowledge and practical skills they acquire during their education, students are trained to take part in various operational and managerial units of the sector.
Department of Airframe and Powerplant Maintenance
The aviation sector is a strategic field in which the need for qualified technical personnel continues to increase due to its advanced technology-based structure and multidisciplinary processes. Today, aircraft consist of complex technological systems that require a high level of expertise, including advanced airframe structures, engine systems, mechanical equipment, and electronic support systems. In this regard, the Department of Aircraft Maintenance and Repair aims to train aircraft maintenance personnel equipped with the knowledge, skills, and professional competencies needed by the aviation sector.
In the department, students acquire comprehensive theoretical knowledge in areas such as maintenance practices, piston engines, aircraft structures, aircraft materials and equipment, gas turbine engines, aircraft maintenance terminology, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems. This theoretical education is supported by practical training focused on aircraft inspection, maintenance, and repair processes, contributing to the development of students’ professional skills.
Graduates of the Department of Aircraft Maintenance and Repair may have employment opportunities in aircraft maintenance and repair centers of civil aviation organizations, aircraft parts manufacturing facilities, maintenance hangars of airline companies, defense industry organizations, and various technical units related to aviation. Graduates are trained to take part in the maintenance, inspection, and repair processes of aircraft airframes, structural components, engine systems, and engine-related subsystems.

Our faculty develops collaborations with leading organizations in the aviation sector to support students in gaining industry-oriented knowledge and experience. In this regard, our faculty has signed cooperation protocols with Turkish Technic, Anıl Havacılık, Global Aviation GmbH (Germany), and Çelebi Hava Servisi A.Ş.
Through these collaborations, we aim to help our students strengthen their professional knowledge and skills through sectoral practices, closely follow current needs in the aviation industry, and prepare for their career journeys in a more qualified and competitive manner.
