The aviation and space sector continues to develop faster than ever. Recently, we witnessed the initiation of many projects related to unmanned air taxies, flying cars, the establishment of colonies on the moon and touristic travel to the Moon. In the aviation and space industry, where high technology is used, many new projects that will facilitate human life and enable to discover the secret of the universe are expected to start soon. In this context, we would like to see young people who are interested in aviation and space issues, who want to take part and contribute to this historical journey, at ISTE.
In the Aviation Management Department, the required aviation courses (Airline Management, Hazardous Substances, Flight Performance, Operational Performance, Meteorology, Aviation Safety and Security) and management courses that will add information to the managerial skills of our students (Business Management , Marketing Principles, Customer Relations, Economics) are given.
Foreign language is very important in the international arena in the air transport industry. With this awareness, a total of 910 hours of English education is given during the four-year education period in Aviation Management Department, and a total of 112 hours of German / Japanese lessons for 4 semesters starting from the third year in order to enable students to learn a second foreign language. Theoretical and applied trainings related to the department are given in Iskenderun Technical University Central Campus.
Students have to do an domestic or international internship for 30 working days. From the Department of Aviation Management, 25 students in 2014 and 21 students in 2015 did internships in various aviation companies in Europe within the scope of the Erasmus internship program. The department also has an education agreement with Zilina University in Slovakia within the scope of Erasmus+.
Avionics
Department of Avionics, where the electrical and electronics systems of aircraft are taught theoretically in detail, is a part of the Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics. Theoretical learning is supported by practical training including testing, maintenance, and repair applications. The students are trained based on international standards to have the abilities of staff who can act in all kinds of maintenance and repair of the aircraft. With a high growth rate and investment amount, aviation has become an attractive sector with the highest employment rate for graduates.
Graduates of the Department of Avionics, who complete their education with a four-year undergraduate program, will have received all the necessary technical courses at the end of four years and will have had a wide knowledge of the sector with the various elective course contents offered. Accompanied by the English courses of high quality, the need for English language-speaking staff is being met. Students of the Department of Avionics, which are accepted with the quantitative score, are educated in Turkish. The department, that follow the Formal Education format, is placed in Iskenderun Technical University Central Campus.
Airframe and Powerplant Maintenance
