GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Dörtyol Vocational School Accounting and Tax Applications Program trains professional accountant intermediate staff with the theoretical and practical training given at the associate degree level. Students who graduate from the program can work in public or private sector companies that provide services in accounting and tax, in certified public accountant or independent accountant financial advisor offices. In addition to the goal of raising qualified intermediate staff who will contribute to the strengthening of the society and our businesses, our school aims to raise our students as individuals who are suitable for the requirements of the age, have universal qualifications, can take responsibility, have developed effective communication skills and can solve problems.
In the education process, students; Legal responsibilities as an accountant and the importance of following the legislation related to his profession are taught, and skills such as recognizing and editing documents used in commercial life are gained. Applied accounting courses are given in the computer environment, and it is aimed that the students will be able to run computerized accounting package programs, make correspondence related to the field, store information and use the stored information. The curriculum includes lessons that will enable students to acquire these features and to acquire the habit of operating the notebooks used in commercial life in accordance with the procedures and principles in accordance with the legislation.
GRADE EARNED
In the Accounting and Tax Applications Program, education is given at the "Associate Degree" level. Graduates who successfully complete all the conditions of the program receive an "Associate Degree Diploma" in Accounting and Tax Applications. In order to graduate, a candidate must have taken all the elective and compulsory courses specified in the program they are studying and have been successful in them, have taken 120 ECTS credits, have a GPA of 2.25 out of 4, and have successfully completed their internship. Students who successfully complete the IDE program are exempted from the internship application.
REGISTRATION ACCEPTANCE CONDITIONS
Students who get sufficient TYT score for the "Accounting and Tax Applications Program" from the Higher Education Transition Exam (YGS) conducted by the OSYM Presidency are placed in the program. The student quota of our department is 40 people.
VOCATIONAL PROFILE OF GRADUATES
Students who graduate from this department can find a place for themselves in business life as both entrepreneurs and employees. They can work as intermediate staff in sworn financial advisors or SMMM (Certified Accountant and Financial Advisor) offices that provide accounting and tax services, as well as completing their undergraduate education and participating in the SMMM internship initiation exam. If they are successful, they can complete their 3-year internship and take the internship completion exam. If they are successful in the internship completion exam, they gain the right to obtain a SMMM license. In this way, they can become managers in the accounting department by having the authority to sign in companies, or they can open their own SMMM offices and work independently as self-employed.
TRANSITION TO A HIGHER EDUCATION
Provided that the graduates of the department are successful in the vertical transfer exam, they can transfer vertically to the Business Administration, Finance and Economics departments of the Faculties of Economics and Administrative Sciences, and to the Accounting-Finance Teaching departments of the relevant faculties.

STRUCTURE OF THE TEACHING PROGRAM
Accounting and Tax Applications program consists of 4 semesters. 30 ECTS courses are given each semester. In the program, besides the theoretical basic education in accounting and tax issues, web-based accounting software programs are processed online at the computer. In addition, there is a compulsory 30 working days summer internship application at the end of the second year in order to apply the knowledge they have learned.
Various evaluation methods such as midterm, homework, project, practice and final exam are applied in the program. Assessment method may include written exam, test, homework, project, performance task. Each course in the department is explained in detail on our website and on OBS.
All exams and other activities are evaluated out of 100 points. In calculating the success grade, 40% of the midterm exam and 60% of the final exam are taken. The make-up exam replaces the final grade of the semester. If the final or make-up grade is below 30, the success grade is given as FF. Students who get one of the grades (AA), (BA), (BB), (CB), (CC), (G) in a course are considered successful in that course. Those who get (F1), (FF), (FD), (DD), (DC) letter grades are considered unsuccessful. In order to benefit from the examination rights of a course, students must fulfill the following conditions defined in the relevant article of our University's Associate Degree and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations;
a) To have registered for that course,
b) Attending 70% of the theoretical courses,
c) Attending 80% of the applications in applied courses,
d) It is obligatory to be successful in the applications and to have completed the given projects.
