Department of Marine Technologies
In this department, where researches are carried out on Fisheries Methods and Technologies, Fisheries Management, Fisheries Processing Technology and Algal Biotechnology, there are 8 academics including 2 Professors, 3 Associate Professors, 2 Assistant Professors and 1 lecturer.
As a result of the reorganization that occurred as a result of the transformation of Fisheries Faculty into the Faculty of Marine Sciences and Technology in 2015, it is aimed to expand the scientific research of our department by focusing on the areas where it is needed and to strengthen its academic staff.In this context, researches on Marine Topography, Marine Observations, Seabed Survey, Mapping, Underwater Observations, Conservation of Natural Resources, Development of Consumption and Processing Methods of Aquatic Creatures, Materials and Mechanization are also targeted.
In the department, a laboratory where studies on Fisheries Ecology and Management are carried out, a laboratory where Fish Behaviors can be observed, Algal Biotechnology Laboratory, Fisheries Processing Technology Laboratory, a Research vessel (RV ISTE 1) with trawl equipment on which Fisheries Research can be carried out and there is a Research Boat (ISTE II) where various observations and practices are carried outwith a length of 5 meters and a power of 60 HP.
