Iskenderun Technical University (ISTE), Faculty of Architecture consists of five departments: Architecture, City and Regional Planning, Landscape Architecture, Interior Design and Industrial Design. Our faculty, which has started to accept undergraduate students for the Landscape Architecture in the 2018-2019 Academic Calendar, continues its academic activities with a total of 3 departments with the opening of the Architecture and City and Regional Planning Departments in the 2019-2020 Academic Calendar. The Department of Interior Architecture will start educational activities at the undergraduate level in the 2020-2021 Academic Calendar as well. Faculty staff comprises of a total of 19 members including 1 professor, 3 associate professor, 8 assistant professor, 2 lecturer and 5 research assistants. Since 2020, we have been continuing our educational activities in our new faculty building, which is located on the central campus of our university with a total area of 17 000 square meters. The Faculty enjoys 18 classes, 12 studios, 2 laboratories (with up-to-date computer centers), 2 printing house, 2 conference halls and 2 cafeterias. As it is located in the center of Iskenderun and close to various means of transportation, Faculty of Architecture has significant advantages in terms of urban and intercity transportation. Iskenderun Credit and Dormitories Institution, which serves for both male and female students, is also within walking distance of our Faculty.
The Faculty of Architecture adopts a modern education approach that focuses on technological advancements by prioritizing to innovation and entrepreneurship. Our faculty aims to enhance the quality of education, improve the quality of research and invention by gaining a voice to become an authority in related education and academic studies at national and international levels, and to ensure the sustainability of these qualities. In accordance with these objectives, our faculty is committed to acting within the framework of professional ethic codes while realizing its strategies to achieve its goals.
The main objective of our faculty is to educate competent professionals in the decision-making and designing stages of environmental, regional, urban and rural planning and in the design, construction and management processes of interior/outdoor spaces and their equipments in order to optimally meet the needs of people in line with contemporary living conditions and in harmony with nature.
The Faculty of Architecture also distinguishes itself through the design of the campus landscape area, national and international projects, and science festivals realized with public institutions and organizations, presentations and public workshops on professional disciplines and exhibitions, and social responsibility projects inehich our students are involved.
