Information About the Exchange
Student exchange within the scope of Farabi Exchange Program involves at least one semester and at most two semesters.
The preparatory and first-year students studying at bachelor's degree programs cannot benefit from Farabi Exchange Program. Master and doctorate degree students also cannot benefit from this program during their preparatory and scientific preparatory years and their first semesters of the main education.
The students' course loads, based on credits determined within the framework of a common credit system, cannot be less than the course loads in the same semester at the higher education institutions which they are enrolled. Course credits are taken into consideration, not the number of courses in the exchange program.
The students have the right to participate in Farabi Exchange Program for once in each education level. However, a student can be a scholarship Farabi Exchange Program student one-time only for a semester or academic year during her/his education life.
The students remains enrolled in their own higher education institutions and those who are obliged to pay tuition fee make their payment during Farabi Exchange Program. These students cannot freeze their registrations in their own higher education institutions. They do not pay any tuition fee to the host institutions where they attend within the framework of the exchange program. These students are paid one and half times more than the monthly scholarship amount paid to bachelor's degree students according to the Law on Scholarship and Credit for Higher Education Students numbered 5102.
The students receive 70% of their monthly scholarships throughout 4 months during their education year in the host institution and 30% of their scholarships collectively at the end of their education year according to the percentage of their success.
Farabi exchange program scholarship cannot be given or another payment cannot be made in the exchanges between higher education institutions within the same local borders according to the regulation of Farabi Exchange Program.
Application Time
The applications are made to the Farabi Office between the dates announced on the website of Farabi Office.
Application Requirements
The minimum requirements for applying to the Farabi Exchange Program are as follows:
The students have not benefited from the program before.
The student must be a bachelor's, master's or doctorate degree student studying in mainstream higher education programs.
Bachelor's degree students must earn at least a 2.0/4 GPA, master's and doctorate degree students must earn at least a 2.5/4 GPA.
The students cannot have a failed course.
The students must not have received any punishment.
Evaluation of the Applications and Student Selections
The GPAs of the students with valid applications are taken into consideration in evaluation if the education language of the higher education the student will attend is Turkish, and the selection is made by sorting all the GPAs for each programs.
If the higher education institution the student will attend has completely or partially education in foreign language, to the sum of 50% of the GPA of the students who have application requirements and made application, and 50% of the foreign language scores indicating the level of the language used in education, is taken into consideration to select students by ranking the GPAs of them for each program.
