ANOTHER SUCCESS FROM ISTE
Prof. Dr. Yusuf Bozkurt, Faculty of Marine Sciences and Technology of Iskenderun Technical University (ISTE), succeeded in taking part in the working group of the BİOAQUA project approved within the framework of COST Actions funded by the European Union (EU).
Prof. Dr. Yusuf Bozkurt, a faculty member at Iskenderun Technical University’s (ISTE) Faculty of Marine Sciences and Technology, has successfully secured a position in the working group of the BIOAQUA project, approved under the EU-funded COST Actions. The project, titled "CA22160 - Enhancing Knowledge of BIOmolecular Solutions for the Well-being of the European AQUAculture Sector (BIOAQUA)," includes researchers from 15 countries such as Spain, Italy, Ireland, Portugal, Poland, Norway, Czechia, Slovenia, Croatia, Greece, Romania, Ukraine, Albania, North Macedonia, and Serbia.
The BIOAQUA project aims to develop biomolecular solutions to enhance the welfare of species cultivated in the European aquaculture sector. It also seeks to introduce innovative solutions for biosecurity, monitoring, and diagnostic systems in veterinary applications. The scientists involved in the project will work on optimizing knowledge exchange between stakeholders in the aquaculture industry, developing a common research agenda, and identifying new and advanced research areas.
ISTE Rector Prof. Dr. Tolga Depci congratulated Prof. Dr. Bozkurt for bringing another achievement to the ISTE family by collaborating with passionate scientists from around the world. He remarked, "I am deeply proud to see another success story added to our university’s record, of which I am always honoured to be a member. We continue to represent our country and ISTE on the international stage, and we have no intention of stopping. As long as we work wholeheartedly, these achievements will keep coming. We are wholeheartedly committed to representing our country internationally through many more initiatives."
