ISTE ADDS A NEW ONE TO THE LIST OF ERASMUS GRANTS
The project application of Iskenderun Technical University (ISTE) in the field of KA171 was found successful by the Turkish National Agency and was entitled to receive grant support.
Iskenderun Technical University (ISTE) has successfully secured grant support from the Turkish National Agency for its project application under the Erasmus+ KA171 program. The application, submitted in February 2024 under Erasmus+ Key Action 1: Learning Mobility of Individuals – Mobility with Partner Countries Not Associated with the Program (KA171), was favourably evaluated by external reviewers. As a result, ISTE has been awarded a total grant of 36,710 euros for student and staff mobility activities with four partner higher education institutions: two in the Asia Region (Bangladesh and Pakistan) and two in the Western Balkans (Albania and Kosovo).
Under the recently secured KA171 program grant, Iskenderun Technical University (ISTE) aims to provide opportunities for students enrolled in Turkish higher education institutions to benefit from study and internship experiences at partner universities in third countries not associated with the program. The grant will also enable ISTE staff to participate in teaching and training activities abroad. These opportunities are designed to allow scholarship recipients to experience diverse educational environments and enhance their academic and professional skills. Similarly, students and staff from the partner institutions in Bangladesh, Pakistan, Albania, and Kosovo will have the chance to engage in similar activities at ISTE, fostering mutual exchange and collaboration between the institutions.
Iskenderun Technical University (ISTE) continues to make significant strides through its international collaborations with various countries and higher education institutions. By securing the KA171 grant for the fourth consecutive time, ISTE has not only demonstrated its consistent success in international project applications but has also positioned itself among the leading universities in Turkey excelling in this competitive arena.
Expressing his hopes that this achievement will bring success and prosperity to the ISTE family, the region, and the country, ISTE Rector Professor Dr. Tolga Depci extended his gratitude to everyone involved in the project. He stated: "We have achieved yet another significant success in our efforts to increase the number of incoming and outgoing students, academic and administrative staff, and researchers within the framework of international exchange programs. Our goal is to expand the number of international cooperation agreements and inter-institutional partnerships, create an educational environment and curriculum that promotes internationalization through English programs and courses, and enhance ISTE’s international recognition. This achievement is also crucial for increasing our foreign student population. Such projects and initiatives, which contribute to the recognition of our country, our city of Iskenderun, our ancient culture, and our university, will continue to be a focus of our ongoing efforts. As in the past, we will continue to align our work with the vision and mission of the Higher Education Council in the coming period. Contributing to the ISTE family and the future of ISTE has always been my greatest source of motivation, and if we are granted the opportunity, we will continue our dedicated service in the new term."
