ISTE STUDENTS IN GABAR WITH MINISTER BAYRAKTAR
Students from the Department of Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences of Iskenderun Technical University (ISTE) met with Alparslan Bayraktar, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, at Gabar Mountain.
Students from the Department of Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences of İskenderun Technical University (ISTE) met with the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Alparslan Bayraktar, at Mount Gabar. Celebrating the Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day on May 19 with 19 petroleum and natural gas engineering students at Turkey's oil hub, Mount Gabar, Minister Bayraktar conducted inspections with the students at the Martyr Esma Çevik Oil Field. Görkem Yaşar, Hasan Can Kepir, Mert Mete Erkan, and Nur Leylek from ISTE also participated in a live broadcast where Minister Bayraktar shared the latest data on oil production.
In Gabar, defined as a game-changing region for oil production, there are currently 42,500 barrels being produced daily across 4 fields and 37 wells. The target is to increase this number to 50,000 barrels in June and reach 100,000 barrels by the end of the year.
Expressing his honour and pride in his students being part of the efforts on domestic energy resources within Turkey's geography through the education they received, ISTE Rector Prof. Dr. Tolga Depci said, “Our Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Mr. Alparslan Bayraktar, along with his team, is making moves that could influence Turkey’s destiny in oil. It is gratifying that they include the youth, the future of the country, in these initiatives, and that there are names from the ISTE Family among these young people. I hope we will see our students’ signatures on even greater achievements. We continue to work towards our ideal of training individuals who will use the education they received at ISTE to serve the nation and the country.”
