Iskenderun Technical University (ISTE) Technology Development Zone Management Inc.'s project, the Drying from Field to Table Project, has been deemed eligible to proceed to the "Full Application" stage based on the evaluation conducted within the framework of the SEECO Project Call for Proposals. Among the 35 projects in the TR63 region that successfully completed the initial pre-application stage and were selected to advance to the second stage, which is the full application process, this project stands out. Under the leadership of TEKNOPARKISTE, the consortium will collaborate with ISTE, ISTE MESEM, and Dortyol First Step Women's Cooperative in the region to work on social entrepreneurship and economic development. The "Drying from Field to Table" project, which was among the pre-applications from the Eastern Mediterranean Development Agency Region (Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Osmaniye) deemed suitable to proceed to the "Full Application" stage as a result of the evaluation conducted within the framework of the Social Entrepreneurship Centre and Livelihood Facility Support Program Project Call for Proposals, is expected to offer numerous opportunities for regional development and employment. It is anticipated that the project will also enable innovative steps in this direction.
The project aims to dry and process agricultural products grown in our region, thus producing high-value-added products. Throughout this process, the goal is to strengthen the technical and technological infrastructure of local farmers and contribute to their economic development. Additionally, the project prioritizes the employment of women and the support of women's entrepreneurial potential.
Expressing satisfaction with the projects advancing to the full application stage, Prof. Dr. Tolga Depci, the Rector of ISTE, stated, "As the ISTE Family, we not only generate projects related to education but also develop unique projects for the development of both our country and our region. The project that has passed the initial stage will touch upon engineering sciences with the equipment and machinery to be used, while also offering opportunities for social and humanities sciences. The fact that ISTE Technopark, which we have reactivated, is producing value-added work for the region is an indication of the correct steps we are taking. Our team has the determination to achieve even greater success. I wish our project, which will benefit our stakeholders and our region, success. I believe that we will successfully complete the full application stage and begin the project."
