ANOTHER 1001 PROJECT SUPPORT FOR ISTE
Iskenderun Technical University (ISTE) Faculty of Marine Sciences and Technology, Department of Aquaculture Engineering faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Naz's project was entitled to be supported by TUBITAK 1001-Scientific and Technological Research Projects Support Program.
Iskenderun Technical University (ISTE) Faculty of Marine Sciences and Technology, Department of Aquaculture Engineering faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Naz's project was entitled to be supported by TUBITAK 1001-Scientific and Technological Research Projects Support Program. Within the scope of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Naz's project titled "Investigation of the Possibilities of Using Protein Hydrolysate Obtained from Sea Bass (Dicentrarchus labrax) By-Products in Different Industrial Areas within the Scope of Zero Waste", it is aimed to develop a food product, create fish feed raw material and determine the medical potential of protein hydrolysate obtained from internal organs, head, spine and other by-products that occur during the processing of all fish, especially sea bass. In this context, the project aims to develop high-value products for three major sectors: environmental pollution prevention within the scope of zero waste, health, and food for human consumption, and feed ingredients. These outputs are expected to contribute significantly to preventing environmental pollution, while also adding value to the health, feed ingredient, and human food sectors.
Within the scope of this accepted 1001 Project, Associate Professor Dr. Mehmet Naz will be accompanied by Prof. Dr. Yavuz Mazlum and Asst. Prof. Metin Yazıcı, faculty members from the Department of Aquaculture Engineering at ISTE Faculty of Marine Sciences and Technologies. Additionally, researchers from Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University and Van Yüzüncü Yıl University will also be stakeholders in the project.
ISTE Rector Prof. Dr. Tolga Depci congratulated Associate Professor Dr. Mehmet Naz on being awarded support for his project, stating, "We, as the ISTE family, have added yet another success to our achievements. I believe that our successes will not be limited to this, and that we will greet each new day with many more achievements. I wish success in their academic careers to all stakeholders who contributed to the project, especially to Associate Professor Dr. Mehmet Naz, and I hope their paths remain open in this regard."
