TUIK CONFERENCE ORGANISED AT ISTE

At Iskenderun Technical University (ISTE), a conference titled '98th Anniversary of the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) and April 25th Turkish Statistics Day' was held. The conference, which took place on Thursday, April 25th, at 11:00 in the Blue Hall of the Barbaros Hayrettin Naval Architecture and Maritime Faculty, was attended by a large number of academic and administrative staff, as well as many students.
As part of the celebrations for the 98th Anniversary of TUIK and April 25th Turkish Statistics Day, a conference was held featuring presentations and introductions about the institution. İsmet Demirağ, the Economic Research Group Manager of the TUIK Hatay Regional Directorate, participated as a speaker. In his opening remarks, Demirağ thanked Iskenderun Technical University and its Rector, Prof. Dr. Tolga Depci, for the opportunity to introduce their organization and services. He emphasized their presence at the conference to establish connections with students and academics, inviting them to engage with TUIK for further collaboration and information exchange. In his presentation, Ismet Demirağ discussed the historical development and organizational structure of TUIK since its establishment. He also talked about the Turkish Statistics Law and the innovations it brought, the process of statistical production, data collection methods and distribution, the official statistics program, and the activities conducted by their institution. Demirağ highlighted the transparency of TUIK, mentioning that individuals can access inflation data and many other pieces of information periodically published on the official TUIK website. He also noted that people can call the Alo 124 Call Center to obtain information. The conference concluded with the answering of questions from the participants.
