Prof. Dr. Tolga Depci, the Rector of Iskenderun Technical University (ISTE), released a message on the occasion of the 104th anniversary of April 23rd National Sovereignty and Children's Day.
Iskenderun Technical University (ISTE) Rector, Prof. Dr. Tolga Depci, released a message on the occasion of the 104th anniversary of April 23rd National Sovereignty and Children's Day. In his message, Rector Depci expressed the following:
"April 23rd is undoubtedly one of the most important milestones for the Turkish nation and the Republic of Turkey. Atatürk, by declaring this blessed day, the opening of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, as a festival day for our children, once again demonstrated his visionary perspective to the whole world. Today, besides all its significance and importance, it is also valuable for us, the ISTE Family: our university became a part of the Turkish higher education ecosystem on this beautiful day. We celebrate the 104th anniversary of our National Sovereignty and Children's Day and the 9th anniversary of ISTE. I hope that many more years, centuries even, this day, which will be the first of the days when our children, who will be the representatives of our future and the Republic, will live in a better world, will be celebrated with the same enthusiasm and excitement. Let's all live with the awareness that the world is entrusted to them.
As ISTE, working in a manner befitting the spirit of the Republic, guided by Atatürk toward science and knowledge, we are working with the consciousness not to advise our children but to set an example for them. We are walking on the paths opened by Atatürk and his comrades, the important figures of Turkish history. We will pass on this path to the next generation in a broader and brighter way.
With these feelings and thoughts, I commemorate with mercy and gratitude, starting with our founder, the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who grew like an oak and stands upright, along with all the heroes of our War of Independence and all our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for our homeland. I sincerely congratulate the 104th anniversary of the opening of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, April 23rd National Sovereignty and Children's Day, and the 9th anniversary of ISTE, and wish for a world where all children, regardless of race, language, or religion, including the oppressed children in Gaza, will live equally in peace, brotherhood, and equality.”
