HAPPY 23 APRIL NATIONAL SOVEREIGNTY AND CHILDREN'S DAY & HAPPY 9TH ANNIVERSARY TO ISTE
The 104th anniversary of April 23rd National Sovereignty and Children's Day, along with the 9th Anniversary of Iskenderun Technical University (ISTE), was celebrated with enthusiasm through various events.
The 104th anniversary of April 23rd National Sovereignty and Children's Day, along with the 9th Anniversary of Iskenderun Technical University (ISTE), was celebrated with enthusiasm through various events. Activities held in different halls and areas at the central campus of ISTE began on Monday, April 22nd, and continued on Tuesday, April 23rd.
As part of the prepared programs, the first day kicked off at 14:00 at the ISTE Central Library Foyer Area with chess, darts, table tennis tournaments organized by the Social Responsibility Coordination, and various activities. At 15:00, in the ISTE Blue Hall, Instructor Emre Uyanmaz from the Mustafa Yazıcı State Conservatory and his students treated the guests to a delightful guitar recital, followed by a stand-up comedy performance by the ISTE Theater Group, themed "Put Yourself in My Place" and "Opportunity". The theater performance, consisting of two plays, concluded at 17:00, followed by a Workshop Session and Cocktail Reception prepared by the ISTE Gastronomy Student Community at the Library Foyer Area. The program of the first day, which started with great enthusiasm, continued with lively activities, especially drawing significant interest from students. The evening events featured concerts where artists performed beloved songs, garnering immense praise with their stage performances. Artists, who remained on stage for approximately 2 hours, delighted the crowd with their stage presence and posed for group photos with their fans, expressing their pleasure in being guests at Iskenderun Technical University.
ISTE Rector Prof. Dr. Tolga Depci attended the Wreath-laying Ceremony held at the Iskenderun Monument Area as part of the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day celebrations. The ceremony, which began at 09.30, commenced with the laying of wreaths at the monument and concluded with a moment of silence and the singing of the National Anthem.
During the ongoing events at the ISTE Central Campus on April 23rd, the ISTE Theater Group presented a theatre performance for the guests. Following this, at 15.00, students from the Mustafa Yazıcı State Conservatory delivered a captivating popular music performance at the Library Stage. The second day of the April 23rd Celebrations, which continued with great enthusiasm from both students and guests, concluded with concerts by Soydan Soydaş and Eser Sarpkaya starting at 20.00. Thus, the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day, along with the 9th anniversary of ISTE, were celebrated joyfully.
Iskenderun Technical University (ISTE) Rector Prof. Dr. Tolga Depci made the following remarks in his evaluation: "First and foremost, I would like to express my gratitude to all the staff and students who contributed to the preparation and execution of the events. We celebrated both the 104th anniversary of April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day and the 9th establishment anniversary of ISTE. I wish for many more years and centuries of celebrating today with enthusiasm, and I hope for a world where all children can live happily under equal conditions, and I wish for a successful educational journey for ISTE."
