With our gratitude to all our donors who joined the 'Let a Brick Be From You' campaign for the reconstruction of Iskenderun Technical University (ISTE) Iskenderun Vocational School (IMYO), which was heavily damaged in the earthquakes of February 6th and whose reconstruction has begun. In collaboration with METU Eymir Cultural Foundation, a meaningful campaign has been initiated for IMYO, the foundations of which were laid in October, with the aim of completion before the start of the new academic year. Initiated by Mustafa Atalay, the father who lost his daughter Yağmur Hazal Atalay Sayın at a very young age, the 'Let a Brick Be From You' campaign will ensure that his daughter's name is kept alive at ISTE.
In his campaign, Mustafa Atalay stated that his daughter, during her illness and after passing, supported a scholarship fund with approximately 600,000 TL, which will assist numerous students. Thanking all contributors, Mr. Atalay stated: “If you would like to contribute a brick, you can donate to this campaign and contribute to the education of young people under favourable conditions”.
ISTE Rector Prof. Dr. Tolga Depci, first of all, thanked Mustafa Atalay and his family for initiating this meaningful campaign and all the donors who supported the campaign, saying, "I find the campaign initiated by my friends from ODTÜ, where I completed my doctoral education and served as a research assistant, very valuable. The path of Yağmur Hazal Atalay Sayın passing through ISTE and IMYO will live forever in the memories of everyone... I offer my condolences to Mr. Atalay and his loved ones on behalf of myself and my institution.
