Iskenderun Technical University (ISTE) Iskenderun Vocational School’s (IMYO) Automotive Building will be rebuilt with a donation made by TÜVTÜRK Vehicle Inspection Stations. Following the heavy damage incurred during the February 6th earthquakes, and with the continued support of grants secured through protocols signed by ISTE Rector Prof. Dr. Tolga Depci, a new collaboration has been established for IMYO. A donation protocol has been signed between ISTE and TÜVTÜRK Vehicle Inspection Stations for the Automotive Building at IMYO. TÜVTÜRK Vehicle Inspection Stations, as the only authorized and responsible organization for periodic vehicle inspections in Türkiye, aiming to contribute to traffic and vehicle safety with its periodic vehicle inspection service performed in international standards, has made a donation for the reconstruction of the Automotive Building.
The donation for the reconstruction of the automotive building also aims to contribute to the training of qualified workforce in the automotive sector and to support young people in developing their vocational skills. After approximately 6 months of construction works, the plan is for the new building to be ready for the 2024-2025 academic year.
In his evaluation on the matter, ISTE Rector Prof. Dr. Tolga Depci stated: "The IMYO Campus in Belen, whose foundations we laid in November, is rapidly rising. We had announced the good news of being ready for the new academic year a few days ago. Today, we are announcing the good news of a new grant. TÜVTÜRK, which values the normalization process of the region along with us and contributes to it, will provide grant support to ISTE, and we will build the IMYO Automotive Building with the support of TÜVTÜRK. I would like to thank TÜVTÜRK, one of our country's distinguished institutions, which has been with us in rebuilding IMYO, one of the oldest educational institutions in the region, and has not hesitated to support us. As the saying goes, 'strength arises from unity,' and with this strength, we continue to work tirelessly.
