Iskenderun Technical University (ISTE) celebrated International Women's Day on March 8 with various events. On Friday, March 8, the program started at 10:00 am in the "Turuncu Salon" conference room. The event was attended by ISTE Rector, Prof. Dr. Tolga Depci, and his wife, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aytemis Depci, along with Vice Rectors, Prof. Dr. Meltem Eken and Prof. Dr. Suha Orçun Mert, General Secretary Yahya Kılıç, academic and administrative staff, and students. During the program that started with a moment of silence and the National Anthem, Rector Depci delivered a greeting speech. He began by wishing everyone a happy International Women's Day. He said: “I believe that it is morally and logically wrong to confine the celebration of women to a single day. The women who touch our lives make every moment of our day beautiful. May God protect our women. Unfortunately, there are women who are excluded and subjected to violence. As our Prophet has said, 'only those with nobility and honor value women; only the vile despise them'. We are grateful to have all the women in our lives. No society can exist without women.”
