Young Scientist from ISTE, Associate Professor Doctor Mehmet Lütfi Yola, collected his TÜBA GEBİP (Outstanding Young Scientist) Award
Associate Professor Doctor Mehmet Lütfi̇ Yola, the Head of the Biomedical Engineering Department within Engineering and Natural Science Faculty at ISTE, collected his Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA) 2019 GEBİP (Outstanding Young Scientist) Award in the event organized at the Presidency’s Social Complex from our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
As part of the 2019 Outstanding Young Scientist Awards (GEBİP) awarded by the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA) in order to encourage scientists to do research, a total of 28 outstanding young scientists from 20 different universities across Turkey have been awarded with the TÜBA-GEBİP awards following intensive work of expert referees and the Academy Council. Associate Professor Doctor Mehmet Lütfi YOLA, the Head of the Biomedical Engineering Department within the Engineering and Natural Sciences Faculty at ISTE, became one of the 28 outstanding scientists who was were awarded with TÜBA-GEBİP Award.
2019 TÜBA International Academy and GEBİP awards were presented to awardees during the ceremony which was hosted by the Presidency’s Social Complex under President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s care. Associate Professor Doctor Yola received his award from our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
TÜBA-GEBİP awards have been awarded since 2001 in an attempt to encourage young scientists’ high quality research conducted in Turkey within the fields of engineering, natural sciences, health sciences, and social sciences.
As part of TÜBA-GEBİP award, Associate Professor Doctor Mehmet Lütfi Yola will be supported with 20.000 TL every year for a period of three years. Moreover, his PhD students who are at the stage of writing their dissertations will receive a sum of 6.000 TL additional supports. Furthermore, they will also be supported up to 4.500 TL to participate in national and international conferences.
Associate Professor Doctor Mehmet Lütfi Yola who was observed to be very happy to receive the award during the ceremony noted: “I would like to thank my family, our Rector Professor Dr. Türkay Dereli, my colleagues, and co-workers who never ceased to support me in my research and contributed to the process which resulted with this award”.
