IMYO TRANSFERRED TO OUR UNIVERSITY
A handover ceremony was held for the Iskenderun Vocational School (IMYO), which was inaugurated in October with a grand opening, marking its transfer from the Eymir Culture Foundation (EKV) to our university.
The event took place on Monday, December 9, at the Iskenderun Technical University (ISTE) Rector’s Office. Hosted by ISTE Rector Prof. Dr. Tolga Depci, the ceremony was attended by EKV Board Member and Head of Technical Affairs Ismail Işık, ISTE Vice Rectors, academic and administrative staff, and other EKV board members. The transfer protocol was signed by Rector Prof. Dr. Tolga Depci and EKV Board Member Ismail Işık.
In his speech, Rector Depci expressed gratitude to the EKV board members for their efforts in completing the IMYO Machine Workshop, Metallurgy Workshop, and service buildings—projects initiated in November 2023 and completed within a year. "May you all be blessed; together, we have contributed a significant achievement to our university," he remarked.
Similarly, EKV’s Ismail Işık highlighted the sense of accomplishment felt throughout the project, stating, "From the first day we signed this project, we knew we were embarking on something meaningful. Today, seeing the results, we realize we have led a significant charitable initiative together. I thank our dedicated staff and donors who supported us tirelessly. Initially, we intended to build a small structure to contribute to Hatay, but with the determination of our team and the constant support of Rector Prof. Dr. Tolga Depci—who worked with us day and night, both domestically and internationally—we were able to create such a monumental project. We owe much to Rector Depci and his team for their devoted efforts that made the process smooth and efficient."
This transfer symbolizes a new chapter for IMYO, solidifying its integration into the university’s academic and cultural vision.
