TEAM KIRKBEŞLİK REACHES TEKNOFEST FINALS UNDER THE GUIDANCE OF ISTE ACADEMICIAN
The team "KIRKBEŞLİK," working under the guidance of Iskenderun Technical University (ISTE) Faculty of Business and Management Sciences, Department of Logistics Management Research Assistant Müge Akyol, advanced to the finals in the 2024 TEKNOFEST Tourism Technologies category with a score of 89 points.
The "KIRKBEŞLİK" team, working under the guidance of Research Assistant Müge Akyol from the Department of Logistics Management at the Faculty of Business and Management Sciences at İskenderun Technical University (ISTE), advanced to the finals in the 2024 TEKNOFEST Tourism Technologies category with a score of 89 points. The team, which combines the strengths of two universities in the city, consists of students from Hatay Mustafa Kemal University's Management Information Systems and Computer Engineering departments: Semanur Özçal, Davud Gündüz, and Ali Okan Gözel.
The KIRKBEŞLİK team, named in honor of their esteemed professor Prof. Dr. Cemil Serhat Akın, who was lost in the earthquake, draws inspiration from his music group. In the Tourism Technologies category, they are using new technologies in their project "Antiochia" to enhance Hatay's tourism potential in the aftermath of the earthquake. During the TEKNOFEST finals, which will take place on September 5th in Antalya, the KIRKBEŞLİK team will present the details of their project to the jury and audience, showcasing their innovative solutions. The team is expected to contribute to the Turkey Post-Earthquake Recovery and Reconstruction Project through TEKNOFEST.
ISTE Rector Prof. Dr. Tolga Depci shared his thoughts on the matter, stating, "One of our ISTE academicians has taken on the role of mentoring MKU students, and together, we have proven that strength lies in unity. We always say that we will lift Hatay together, and we are proud to back up our words with actions. I believe that we will accomplish many more projects together with MKU Rector Prof. Dr. Veysel Eren. I congratulate the KIRKBEŞLİK team and wish them success in the finals."
