ISTE's TRADITIONAL MAY 19 EXHIBITION
Iskenderun Technical University (ISTE) hosted the 8th National and 6th International Juried May 19th Mixed Exhibition online, which concluded on Wednesday, May 29th.
The honorary chair of the exhibition was ISTE Rector Prof. Dr. Tolga Depci, with the event coordinated and curated by lecturers Adem Çolak and Merve Düzağaç Çolak from the Iskenderun Vocational School's Handicrafts Department. The exhibition, traditionally held and highly anticipated by artists, opened online on Sunday, May 19th, at 19:19 and concluded on Wednesday, May 29th.
Artists and academics from across Turkey and from countries such as Northern Cyprus, Italy, South Korea, Russia, Romania, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Tatarstan, and Iraq (Turkmeneli) showed great interest in the exhibition. This year’s mixed exhibition featured 114 works across various mediums, including illumination, miniature, calligraphy, felt, weaving, sculpture, painting, graphics, leather, mosaic, patchwork, and printing. Additionally, special collection works created with compressed air ink, iron powders, CO2 powders, and pigments on canvas were displayed.
ISTE Rector Prof. Dr. Tolga Depci commented on the 8th National and 6th International Juried May 19th Mixed Exhibition: “Firstly, I would like to extend my gratitude to our artists and curators who have supported us by submitting such valuable works to our traditionally held 8th National and 6th International May 19th Mixed Exhibition this year. By presenting these valuable works online, we have removed boundaries. We will continue to conduct many more digital projects in line with contemporary requirements and our government’s austerity measures. As the ISTE Family, we are always by the side of art and artists, valuing and supporting them."
