ISTE WELCOMES GUESTS FROM PORTUGAL
Iskenderun Technical University (ISTE) Rector Prof. Dr. Tolga Depci hosted the faculty members of Lisbon Technical University and the Director of Porto Higher Engineering Institute Pretensa.
Rector of Iskenderun Technical University (ISTE), Prof. Dr. Tolga Depci, hosted esteemed faculty members from Lisbon Technical University and the Director of Porto Higher Engineering Institute Pretensa. On Tuesday, March 26th, Prof. Dr. João Garcia and Prof. Dr. Carlos Sousa Oliveira from Lisbon Technical University, along with Civil Engineer Paulo Pimenta, Director of Porto Higher Engineering Institute Pretensa, paid a visit to Rector Depci at the ISTE Rectorate Office. They were accompanied by Advisor to Rector Lecturer S. Alper Özdemir.
Guests -who arrived in the region to examine the reconstruction processes in Hatay following the earthquakes on February 6th, and to conduct investigations on urban transformation and development of construction technologies in Türkiye- visited Rector Depci to share their experience and acquire information. The visit also provided an opportunity for productive exchanges on urban development and transformation activities in Portugal.
Expressing his satisfaction with the visit, ISTE Rector Prof. Dr. Tolga Depci said: "Today, we hosted professors and engineers who are in Hatay to closely examine the rapid reconstruction efforts initiated thanks to the unity demonstrated by the Turkish Nation after the February 6th Earthquake and the mobilization launched by the state with all its capabilities. Our conversation covered a wide range of topics, including urban development and transformation activities in Portugal. I extend my gratitude to Prof. Dr. João Garcia, Prof. Dr. Carlos Sousa Oliveira, and Paulo Pimenta for their gracious visit.
