New Department at Mustafa Yazıcı State Conservatory!
“Iskenderun Technical University (ISTE) Mustafa Yazıcı State Conservatory has opened the Department of Turkish Folk Music”
Iskenderun Technical University, which has managed to attract attention with its excellent education and make a good impression in many fields, continues to improve in the academic field with new departments in Iskenderun.
Recently, the Department of Turkish Folk Music has officially been opened within ISTE Mustafa Yazıcı Conservatory to transfer Turkish Folk Music samples to the younger generation of musicians, keep these samples alive and introduce them internationally. With the opening of the Department of Turkish Folk Music, selected examples from traditional Turkish Folk Music culture will be taught in line with local dialects and vocal techniques.
Assoc. Prof. Dr Servet Yaşar, an academic member of ISTE Mustafa Yazıcı State Conservatory, wishes the new department which will continue its activities under Turkish Folk Music voice and instrument training departments to be beneficial for our country, for all art-lovers and especially for ISTE. "In a short period of time, the academic staff of the department will be further strengthened and students will begin to be placed in the department of Turkish Folk Music," he said.
